Out Aloud LGBT Choir
Out Aloud is Sheffield’s first and only choir for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. We began in 2006 under the musical direction of Val Regan, and have been going from strength to strength ever since. We currently have over 50 members and sing everything from Rufus Wainwright and Kylie Minogue to protest songs, medieval madrigals and West Galleries wonders. We are very proud to be hosting this year’s National Street Choir Festival and hope to give you all a weekend to remember!
UPDATE: If you would like to join Out Aloud, we start rehearsals again on Wednesday 8th September 2010, 7.15 at the Sharrow Performing Arts Space, off Sharrow Lane, Sheffield. We’re open to all lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people from Sheffield and surrounding area – we have members travelling from as far away as ooh the Peak District and Mansfield!
See our website here for a number to call – tell us you’re coming along and our lovely meeters and greeters will welcome you, make sure you feel part of things, and show you the way to the pub afterwards if you fancy it!
